BIG BEAR CITY, San Bernardino County — October 28, 2026. The governing board of the Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater Agency (BBARWA) is scheduled to meet today at 5 p.m. at 121 Palomino Drive, Big Bear City. The agency has posted its official two-page agenda and meeting packet, which include a report on the Greenspot Recharge Project, the fiscal 2026 audit and proposed changes to two administrative spending items.

What’s on the published agenda?

Under information and committee reports, board members are scheduled to receive the general manager’s report, a Greenspot Recharge Project report, an audit for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, an annual report for the same period and an outfall-line investigation technical memorandum. Reports are scheduled for presentation; their presence on the agenda does not imply approval of the Greenspot project or any new construction funding.

Under new business, the board is scheduled to consider an administrative assistant position classification and pay schedule along with a proposed $37,500 allocation from the contingency fund. It will also consider reallocating $16,353 from the capital budget to a boardroom camera project. The agenda lists disposal of a 2004 Toyota Tundra SR-5 and a resolution recognizing board member Rick Herrick’s service.

Can residents comment?

Yes. The agenda provides a public forum, plus public comment on agenda items before the board considers each one. Individual speakers generally receive up to three minutes under the listed rules. The public forum for non-agenda items has an overall 30-minute limit. Under California open-meeting rules, an agency generally cannot take action on an item not properly listed on its agenda.

The meeting also lists a second participating location in Waimea, Hawaii, so interested residents should read the published agenda for the precise meeting arrangements instead of assuming that all board participants are physically in Big Bear City.

Why this matters to the valley

BBARWA handles regional wastewater services. Its operating decisions, capital work and discussion of treated-water reuse can affect public infrastructure, costs and long-range water planning. This article reports scheduled discussion and proposals, not decisions already made. Final actions should be checked in later official minutes.
